Day of the Dead, actually :)
I just love painting these girls! They are macabre in their skeletal make-up....but still so bright and beautiful. I love the flowers and the colors....it is so fun to paint them!
I tried something different from canvas this time. I thought I'd use some chipboard shapes I bought a while back to make ornaments for the occasion.

They can be hung on your altar, a Halloween tree ( I always wanted one of those) or on your walls all year round.
I used bits of old and new jewelry pieces to dangle below. This enamel butterfly was an old pendant that belonged to my Grandma years ago.
The sentiment translates to, "Never Forgotten".
The flowers are cut from vintage greeting cards. This one says," Eternal Love".
I don't know if you remember when Amy showed some of us how to sew fabric onto watercolor paper and use that to paint on? The original post is HERE.
Well, I had a 9 inch square sewn and waiting for ages for the right inspiration to come along.
This is what it became :)
See, color and more color! Love it!
Her message says, "I will never forget you" (thanks for the letter tiles, Micki!)
Making the fabric flowers for her hair reminded me that I had some flower brooches in the shop that could use a photo redo.
Maggie helped me :)
I think they definitely look more attractive now :P
I'm trying to keep the Halloween coming, though I know Christmas is at my door getting ready to ring the bell......"Hold on, hold on, I'll be there in a minute!"
My Friend, Magaly is having lots of dark, Hallow's Eve fun over at her Blog if you are craving more!
Go visit for a spell...okay, okay...that's an old one...but she is a witch...so it's true!
Hugs and happy memories,
Cam

Just loving them all so much - don't they just each have their own special characteristics? I love the quotes on them too.
My favourite though is the one with the machine stitching and the tiny skulls (are they stitched too?) Just gorgeous!
Loving your new look blog too :)
These are so so beautiful! I love them all - but that stitched piece is to die for - I can say that at this time of year right? - anyway, LOVE them and Maggie too!
Oh and yes, I was at Target today in the Halloween isle - turned the corner and Christmas practically slapped me in the face . . . xoxo

The other day I was in Walmart and saw in the Christmas stuff a black Christmas tree. First thing I thought of after "I need that!" was "Hmmm. perfect Halloween tree!" LOL

These are just beautiful! I love how you have incorporatede the jewellery - it inspires me to dig through all those broken pendants and single earring! X
I think they're fantastic. I first thought the chipboard ones were from fabric. :) And your sweetie looks adorable. I bet you'll sell out those flower brooches. :)

These are so pretty! We have an amazing Dia de los Muertos parade here in Tucson. It is so fun to get dressed up, do face paint, and march down the street with hundreds of others honoring their loved ones!
Oooo, I just love these! I'm still in awe at all the details in such a small area and such a sweet romance there is to them too.
Wait...there are Halloween Trees?! Awesome...I've never heard of that...lol, I think I'd want on too just for something to decorate. ^_^
Aww, your little one is growing yp so fast. She looks so much like you. <3
I think what I love most about the day of the dead is the skeleton face with the whole flowers in the hair like Frida.
I love your Day of the Dead designs! I'm planning on painting a sugarskull lady too. Your creations are gorgeous with all the decorations!
