What's on my Work Desk?

Wow!  In 3 years of Blogging, this will be the first time I've participated in Stamping Ground's cool little Link up!  It's fun to see what other people's work spaces look like...and since I actually have something in progress on it, I thought I'd join in :)

Now, I know that I said I was going to do something Halloweeny....being that I was weary of painting Mermaids and all...but, when I sat down to paint, there was not a witch or pumpkin in sight...haha!

In fact, I started pulling out some already started projects that I've been storing.  I had 2 chunky canvases with papers already layered on them....so, I chose my palette, added more backgrounds, and sketched out my subjects....first in pencil, then in ink....

This is the one still in progress...

This is the one I finished this morning.

I love how the fox will be red/orange and the background green...and this one is the opposite.
Last night, I was able to finish this piece that I sketched out last summer.

If I had 2 kids, I'd keep this one...haha!
I know there is an owl-lovin' Mama somewhere with 2 kids that will click with this piece!  I'm hoping they will find eachother one day :)

Well, thanks so much for coming by to see what I've been up to!  I know I'll be having a date with a Fox tonight...and not my Hubby, either...heehee!
(Anyone else get such enjoyment out of silly little puns and sayings as I do?...it's childish, I know, but I refuse to grow up!)

Have a looksie at the other workdesks today and see what magic is in the middle of being made :D

Warm regards (cuz it's friggin' hot here today...oh, and because I like you so much, of course!),
Cameron

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, and yes, it feels absolutely great to be playing with my new journal! I've now uploaded a post about the completed page if you want to hop back and have a look. It turned out better than I could have expected.

I love those canvasses, such beautiful colours. Is the second one a Luna Moth? And the owl is perfect, someone will be happy to buy that one day. Yeah those home made socks are warm, not great inside shoes but perfect for wearing at home on chilly nights.

Doing a little WHOOP WHOOP to see you in WOYWW (even though I'm not this week as my desk is exactly the same as last week!)

Your work area is soooo bright and airy! Loving all your finished works - makes me feel not so bad about all the abandoned background canvasses I have lying around - there is hope yet for them. The colours on the fox in particular are gorgeous!

Cameron has joined the ranks of the woyww-ers! Excellent! Welcome!

Okay, I don't like to play favorites, but that moth is fabulous. But you already know I like your style, right?

You said you planned to do Halloween-y (hee hee, she said "weinie") and then didn't feel you did, but I think the fox and the owls could be spooky, and gosh knows I'd be screaming in fright if such a large moth came at me. When I saw the very top part of the moth painting I thought it was going to be one of those long-eared bats... okay you win, not very Halloweeny but definitely no mermaids. Welcome to WOYWW.

Cameron, I love the backgrounds on these...my favorite little detail is the birds on a wire...there is such a sweet charm about birds lined up on a wire and it always makes me think of the Pixar short where The Birds. I think that's what it is called. Your owl painting is truly precious! Truly! Have a great day and I hope you sell out on your Halloween sale! Those are all so fun!

Oh my gosh that owl mama is amazing! Since one of the owls is littler, what about Sally? Hehe, still it's adorable! I'm glad you're sharing your work desk because it shows me just how darn untidy I am. Thanks so much for skyping with me the other day (p.s. I know this post is a week old, I don't know how I've gotten so behind in my commenting) I had a blast!
