Been Busy!

Hello Blog Mateys!

I'm so sorry to be MIA.......Bad Cameron...Bad *slaps hands*
I promise, though, it's all been for a very good reason!

First off, I made a new batch of sea glass hair barrettes with some of the goodies found while beachcombing this Summer.
Take a looksee....

These are just a few.  I had the good fortune of finding some beautiful bits of rare colors this year :)
Oh, and some pretty agates...

....and cute heart-shaped stones, too :)

These are all in the shop for those who'd like a closer peek.

Also, Maggie started 2nd Grade this week.....

So, that's been part of why I've been absent....

BUT, the main reason is something extra special!!

Unfortunately, I can't reveal the secret just yet....even if I am bursting at the seams with excitement!

Something is brewing....
I'll give you a sneak peek, though....because I just can't help myself!

So......I'll keep working away, giggling in anticipation.....
Can't wait to show and tell! :)

Hope your week is filled with good stuff, too!
Hugs all around,
Cam

New and Old....and a Giveaway!

Hello Friends!

Well, I'm excited about a few new things to show you....

More upcycled fabric posies :)

They just make me so happy :)

....and I love that I'm keeping old shirts out of the landfill!

Micki sent me some great fabric that I used on this one....see the pretty floral up there :)

I also tried my hand at sewing some Victorian Cuff Bracelets....

They have a button and elastic closure, more of that great fabric, and tea stained lace....

They can be worn with the lace up...

...or down.

I think I'm going to keep these for myself...heehee ;P
Do you think I should make more of these?
I'm picturing them with a Steampunk Costume, but I'm willing to try making more if you think they'd be popular :)

....and a new hair clip....

I call it "Green Ice"

Now, on to the OLD part of this post.
I've decided to discontinue offering Jewelry in my shop so I've marked it all HALF OFF!
There's a few nice gifts there for under ten bucks.

...And now to the GIVEAWAY...
I'd like to offer someone a 50% OFF Coupon Code to use on any ONE in my shop!  Please just leave a comment stating what item you would use it for if you are chosen....and yes, you can double up on the discount for the jewelry if you want to take a chance that it'll still be there :D

If you'd like to spead the word using any social media of your choice, that'd be great and earn you another entry for every method.

If you'd rather not be in the running, you can tell me that, too....I won't be offended.  I just like to hear from you!

I'll pick a winner on Tuesday morning, December 4th.

Thanks so much for returning here to catch up with me and my crafty ramblings!
I love you all!

My best,
Cam

New Clips on the Block

Hello my Fabulous Blog Divas!

Well, November is full swing now, but unfortunately, temperatures are back up into the low 90's today :(
Just when I think I can pull out the sweaters...haha!
Well, despite the non-Christmasy feeling around here, I'm trying to get the shop stocked with new goodies.
I've made some new sea glass hairclips.

This one is all frosty white with one blue-green beauty in the middle. Some of the glass on this clip are an inch or longer!

This one is really unique.  I just love that navy blue pottery piece that the little shell is resting on.

This one is all ocean pottery.  Look at all those fantastic colors!  I wanted to keep the look playful, so I wrapped it in pink wire ;P

I think this might be my favorite.  Up close, those pale blue pieces of pottery have wonderful crackling.  I have such a fondness for crackling...haha!  The serene color scheme is lovely, too.

...and then there is this little petite cutie.  Just an inch and a half long (4 cm) but perfect for adding quick accents to ordinary hairstyles!  These are all now available in my SHOP, if you are interested :)

I currently have clay under my nails...heehee....just a little hint as to what I have in store next!

Thank you so much for the visit!

Clips and Stones

Hello Friends!
Thank you all so much for the Welcome Back wishes...it is so nice coming home to you :)

While I was away, we did brief stops at 2 of my favorite beach combing spots.
We were able to collect some wonderful new pieces of sea glass, pottery, driftwood...

...shells...

...and stones.

Sorting them made we want to dive right in and make more hair clips!
So I did...heehee :)

I just love the crackling that aged pottery gets...and the pale green of that one glass piece is incredible.

I thought these lime zest colors looked like Summertime in clip form :)

I really like how the copper wire coordinates with the little shell in the middle.

I think this is my favorite...that one piece of pottery has a great sunshine yellow enamel still on it.

...but then there's this lovely clip...those blue and green slivers are so subtle, and yet, so special.  I do like this one a lot, too :)

...and then there's the stones.

Isn't it stunning?

...and take a look at these lucky finds <3

Can't be too lucky or find too much love :)

I am having a Christmas In July SALE at ye olde shoppe.  All these creations are currently on the shelves, if you are interested :)

I haven't had any epiphanies on what to do with the driftwood I've collected yet...
Do...

...have any ideas?

Well, off to the Vet's to pick up Sally from spay surgery....then need to take Maggie to Karate class...
Busy, busy!
Big hugs,
Cameron

Remember Me?

So, I try to get back here often....I really do!
I always feel so good when I have a new post under my belt.  I'll be sailing on wonderful visits and delightful comments for a few days.....then a few more days will pass....and I'll keep saying that I need to put a new post up....then a few more days go by....and I start feeling stressed and rushed....it couldn't have been a whole week already, I never finished (fill in the blank) to share!

Well, that's just the way it goes ;P
I don't have as much as I'd like to show you, but, things start to get even busier starting tomorrow....so I hope it will suffice until next week.

It's been pretty warm around here for Winter.....has me thinking of vacation, which gets me excited about Glass Beach....which, in turn, makes me realize I need to make more hair clips :)

It's almost therapeutic sifting and searching through all my found bits of glass and shell....putting them together to make little pieces of wearable art.
I say "almost therapeutic" because while it is relaxing to my brain, my neck protests ;)

Being able to find the perfect way to use those extra special finds is gratifying, though.  I've hoarded them long enough...haha!  That mussel shell above is gorgeous in person.

These are among my favorite colors to find on the beach.....like solidified water droplets.....they almost glow in the sunlight...
See, only 4 new clips....not much.....but, it's something.  I'm working on other things, really!  Like my submissions for Stampington....getting close to done on that whole process....
...and....Lisa from the Wright Stuff and I have decided to do the lessons from this book together every week or so....
Haven't started yet....
Soon, very soon!

Do you have this book, too?
Do you wanna join us?
It looks really fun....loose and playful....
I get so hung up on details and have trouble being loose like this.  I think it will be good for me...for us...
C'mon....play along if you can :D

Oh, and if you are on Skype, let's totally set up some crafty Playdates!!

Hope your February is already starting out wonderfully!
Hugs to you all,
Cam

Mermaid Dreams

Hello Sweet Friends!

I can't tell you how excited I am to have you along with me....over 100 followers (not that size matters, right :P) is just a humbling and incredible feat!  I thank you all so much for finding enough in me to spark your interest....and in a lot of cases, earn your friendship!  I truly am so tickled to have you here!

Well, that being said....and it NEEDED to be said....

I wanted to give you a look at some new Hair Clips I made from those wonderful sea glass bits I collected last Summer......(and some new art if you can wait til the end...heehee!)

Do you think a Mermaid might dream of this?  Well, hopefully a few of the land-dwelling kind do :)

I love that this one reminds me of Mermaid scales, all shimmering and shiny, washed ashore for me to find....

I tried something new with the freshwater pearls perched atop the sea glass....I just really enjoyed the punches of color and interest it gave....

I really like the hodge podge ones that incorporate bits of everything in them....this one features, sea glass, pitted shell and sea tumbled pottery.....

Most of you who've visited here know that we just bought a house....well, while we were on vacation we were waiting to hear about whether our offer would be accepted, and we were trying not to get our spirits up too high just in case it didn't go our way.....

Well, as I sifted thru the sand in search of lovely bits (every year they are getting harder and harder to find) this appeared!

Can you see that little house on that tumbled piece of pottery?!  Amazing to have this gem fall into my possession at a time of wonder and unease.... I took it as a sign!  It wasn't but 3 months later we were moving into our very own abode!

I'm thinking there's something special about this little green cottage :)
...and don't you just love those wonderfully crackled pieces flanking it?!  All natural!  I haven't altered these babies one little bit ;)

...And what brought all this Sea Stuff to mind anyways?

This new painting.....

"Among Friends" 8 x 10 inch mixed media acrylic on canvas....

I used a page from an old dictionary for her tail....

Doilies made perfect seashells for her top.....

I love the way she turned out....all except this!
Can you see that smudge in her hair?  Aaargggh!  I used watercolor pencil on parts of her hair, and when I brushed the sealer on....it smudged!  Oh well....it's definately a mistake I won't repeat!  At least it's an underwater scene.  I'll just try to pretend it's the motion of the water instead of letting it bug me...

Well, thanks again, my Blog Buddies for checking out what I've been up to....it makes me feel like one of the popular people for once....haha :)

Smiles,
Cam

Add a Touch of Glass to Your Do

Hello Everyone!
As promised, I'm bringing you the pics of my newest Sea Glass Hair Accessories :)
I know, I know....you've been chomping at the bit....checking back daily....fretting....wondering when they'll be unveiled......
Well, your wait is finally over!!

Okay....so I'm just having some fun with you....but, maybe, just maybe....

...you were wondering about them a little, tiny bit? Hee hee :)

Isn't that one above so pretty...I found some gorgeous Olive Green glass this year.  It looks stunning paired with copper.

Those are 2 amazing pebbles nestled between the glass there, similar enough in color to be matched up, but different enough in design to make them each unique!

I really like to do these random color pieces....makes it so easy to wear with jeans...and gives those bits of rare glass (like the little blue ones) a chance to shine!

These little green beauties measure just an inch and 1/2 each (about 4 cm).  They pack such a gorgeous statement into a tiny package :)

This one is lovely in shades of sea foam and wrapped in gold tone wire.

This is one I created a while ago, but LOVE sooo much!  Like an Ocean Mosaic, it's like scooping sand into your hand and pulling up this treasure....all kinds of shiny and beautiful bits all in one place!

I like to imagine this in the hair of a Bride getting married on the Beach :)

There is some of that lovely Olive Glass again, this time between soothing coffee browns....

This one is so special....elongated, thin pieces fit together like a staircase in the clouds and showcasing one subtle shard in sea spray blue. (say that 10x fast...haha)
This is one of my favorites...pitted shell and stone....such wonderful texture....all natural colors....even that purple one on the end!

....and last, but not least, this Wintry Gem is soft in whites...and a bit edgy wrapped in copper....like a punk snow princess...haha!

Hope you enjoyed them...

They are now in my shop for your Holiday gift-giving consideration *wink*

Have a wonderful rest of the week!!! I'll be "sea"ing you soon.... (the dork in me, yet again) ;-D
Hugs,
Cameron
