New and Old....and a Giveaway!

Hello Friends!

Well, I'm excited about a few new things to show you....

More upcycled fabric posies :)

They just make me so happy :)

....and I love that I'm keeping old shirts out of the landfill!

Micki sent me some great fabric that I used on this one....see the pretty floral up there :)

I also tried my hand at sewing some Victorian Cuff Bracelets....

They have a button and elastic closure, more of that great fabric, and tea stained lace....

They can be worn with the lace up...

...or down.

I think I'm going to keep these for myself...heehee ;P
Do you think I should make more of these?
I'm picturing them with a Steampunk Costume, but I'm willing to try making more if you think they'd be popular :)

....and a new hair clip....

I call it "Green Ice"

Now, on to the OLD part of this post.
I've decided to discontinue offering Jewelry in my shop so I've marked it all HALF OFF!
There's a few nice gifts there for under ten bucks.

...And now to the GIVEAWAY...
I'd like to offer someone a 50% OFF Coupon Code to use on any ONE in my shop!  Please just leave a comment stating what item you would use it for if you are chosen....and yes, you can double up on the discount for the jewelry if you want to take a chance that it'll still be there :D

If you'd like to spead the word using any social media of your choice, that'd be great and earn you another entry for every method.

If you'd rather not be in the running, you can tell me that, too....I won't be offended.  I just like to hear from you!

I'll pick a winner on Tuesday morning, December 4th.

Thanks so much for returning here to catch up with me and my crafty ramblings!
I love you all!

My best,
Cam

Crafting Frenzy!

Hi Guys!
Did you have a nice weekend?
Scoop up any good deals?

I'm sad to see the Autumn and Harvest decor officially gone, but I am excited about another Christmas!  Amazing that 2012 is almost over!

Now, I'm going to apologize in advance.....
This blog's content over the next month is probably going to be short on words.

I'm simultaneously trying to balance making things for gifts, stocking the shop, fulfilling a few commissions/ custom orders and spending time enjoying the Season....you know how it is.  I'm sure you feel the same way....crazily trying to get everything accomplished while also trying to slow down with the Family and soak it all in.

So, when I have time to myself, I try not to waste it.  Here's what I've managed to squeeze in over the weekend.

A repurposed Tshirt scarf for my niece.

I didn't use her instructions, but I got the idea from seeing this scarf here:

I made that little flower pin so she could remove it and use it elsewhere, an elastic headband, belt, jacket, etc.  I found I wanted to keep making more :)

....and I had a custom request for an all white sea glass clip with silver wire.

I finished it and a couple more, too.

So, slowly but surely, gifts are getting checked off the list....new items are being added to the shop....and that warm, giving feeling seeps in to my bones....

Better than osteoporosis :P

So, please...
....remember to take your calcium, give your loved ones a kiss and keep on crafting!  I'll be thinking of you while I tinker into the night.

Mwuah!

Pretty Sticky

Just jumping in again this week to join the lovelies at Butterfly Effect and their theme of FLOWERS.

I don't know why I've had stickers on my mind. I've always adored them and collected them in grade school. I still get giddy over a yummy scratch-n-sniff one or an extra glittery one :)

I even ordered some stickers with my art on them from MOO!  I can't wait to get those!
So, it just felt appropriate to spend some time getting my sticky on ;P

Maggie and I used Sharpies to draw shapes and designs on thicker sheets of white paper.
It was a nice way to spend some time together...sitting side by side, doodling and admiring each other's work :)
These are mine...

Maggie's are below.

...then we colored them in with Prismacolor pencils.

I cut them out when they were ready and sent them through this.

Do you have a Xyron machine? If you don't, look into one!!  You put your diecuts, photos, random bits of paper, fabric, anything that isn't too thick in...crank the handle...and it comes out the other side as a sticker!!

You can also get laminate cartridges and magnet backing cartridges, if you prefer. It comes in a 12 inch size, too, but, I'm financially challenged and could only afford the 5 incher.

I LOVE my Xyron!  I used it to make those Witch Pantry Labels last Halloween....remember those?

Now, I have some pretty embellishments for my envelopes :)

Hope you have a flower-filled week!

Yours in stickiness,
Cam ;P

Random Bits

Hello my Dears!
Just a simple post filled with random goodness!

We put a beautiful creation in our bouganvillea today.....you can't see it, but she decorated the inside for the birds to enjoy, too...
...and just in case they didn't know it was for them...she labeled it...haha!

We sat on the porch and admired the happy flowers....

I've decided a pot filled to the brim with pansies is going to always be a Spring tradition!
I love having them by the front door welcoming me home ;)

Those flowers smell so wonderful when you walk by them....

The roses are in full bloom now, too :)

Hope you've been enjoying random bits of pleasure, too!  You deserve it!!
Love ya' guys,
Cameron

Cute Paperback Page Flowers

So, I hear using coffee filters for crafts is all the rage now.....(even Stampington & Co. issued a Coffee Filter Challenge).....  and in the interest of finding more creative things to do with all the paperback pages I have around here now due to my Altered Page art, I decided to try to combine a bunch of things I already had on hand to make these funky and versatile, little flowers.
I thought they'd be great for dressing up gifts, your hair, clipping on a sweater, etc.....

I used dyed coffee filters
paperback flower shapes edged in white glue and glitter,
buttons and feathers....

I adhered alligator clips to the backs of them to make it easier to jazz anything up!
This shows a clothespin holding the clip in place while the glue dries.

I 'm really pleased with how they turned out.  They were so fun.  I took pics of all the steps I took to make them.  If anyone is interested in more info, I'd be happy to supply :)
I "vintagized" this photo for effect.... they remind me of retro corsages, so, it seemed fitting ;-p

Art Walk is just around the corner now....on Friday.....better stay up late to keep up the creative pace.  I want to have lots of eye candy to present to my adoring fans ( and by this, I mean family and friends that I'm insisting come to my exhibition...haha!)

Wishing you well, Cameron
