My First "Listing"

Hello my Dear Blog Friends!

Do any of you know Amy?  She has a thing with writing lists that I just love...well, truth be told, she is utterly hilarious, too...so raw, unapologetic, unique...and FUNNY...I know I said this already, but she is....that you can't help but instantly like her.  She makes some really cool art, too.....

But this post is not about art today...it's about lists....
I'm going to do one. Just for the heck of it.
A List of Randomness...yeah, I like that.... ;-P

1.
If you have an attached garage, don't store fertilizer in there during the hottest months of the year. Your house will smell like poop!

Oh, and if you have a hole in the garage door for your dumb cats to get to their litterbox, but they refused to go in there with the little flap covering it, so you had to take it off for them....you will get flies in your house!  Dozens upon dozens of yucky, buzzing flies!!

2.
I will ooh and ahh over spiders....save crickets from bathtubs....

...try not to step on pill bugs on the sidewalk and rescue worms that have washed onto the concrete after a rain....but I hate flies in my house....
3.
And cockroaches....well, ants, too....guess I'm not the creepy crawly saint afterall...

4.
I pulled a muscle while swatting flies...
.....a testament to how many flies we actually had....and a wake-up call to just how out of shape I am...haha!
5.
I don't care about shoes.
I'm jealous of my friend's contact lens collection!  She has a pair to match every outfit.  I had a pair once....
I felt friggin' cool that Halloween...though I couldn't see anything.  Your pupil gets wider as it gets darker and starts to get overlapped by the white coloring of the lens.
This makes everything blurry.  It's okay, they were itchy, too...so I threw them away.

Which leads me to 6.
I like to be comfortable!
This not only goes for shoes and clothes, but situations, as well.... I don't like crowds and will go out of my way to avoid them.
7.
I tried on 2 occasions to dress with "personality"....once in Jr. High I wore 2 different colored neon socks (this was the 80's) and I was teased all day about how I must've gotten dressed in the dark.  Needless to say I didn't try to be unique again....until High School...Freshman year.

My Mom bought me a gorgeous black velvet skirt and vest at a vintage store after I begged and begged her for it.  The skirt was full without being ruffly and had a satin bow with one rhinestone button in the center around the waist.  The vest had the same buttons down one side.  I wore a crisp white shirt underneath and felt like a million bucks!
Then I walked into school....
Oh well, now I reserve my flair for funky, unique things for occasions where you get stared at in a good way :)
Ren Faire with my Dad...
...and Mom.

8.
Though, you'll find me in jeans and a t-shirt all other days.

9.
I care way too much about what others think of me....always have.  Wish I didn't.

10.
Being in Nature relaxes and inspires me.

11.
I love animals!

12.
I am not a vegetarian.

13.
My daughter's goldfish took 3 days to die.  I think I cried more than she did.  This was the first time she dealt with the death of someone close to her.  It made me so sad to see her struggle with loss and come to the understanding that every living thing grows old and dies.  She took an active interest in seeing what happens next...so we buried him in our planter where she could see orange flowers and think of him. And we made sure to say some nice things about him, too.

Made me think of my own mortality.....

14.
I really need to start working out again ;)

15.
Isn't it neat when you find a sign out somewhere that speaks to you!

16.
Did you know the name Cameron is of Scottish origin and means Crooked Nose?

17.
I was adopted and came with the name....I have no idea why it was chosen :)

18.
My daughter and I visit the shelter regularly just to give the dogs and cats some good scratches and kind words.
No, we haven't brought anyone home.....yet.....
19.
Pansies are my favorite flower!

20.
I'm surprised I got this far....(and that you are still here!)

This was a fun little experiment...doing this list....
Now, at least, I can cross it off mine.....haha!

XO,
Cam

Lol! That was fun to read. :) Aren't you glad none of the kids in school knew the meaning of Cameron. :))

Oh Cameron you are a beautiful soul inside and outside and one day you will feel so happy and confident being YOU that other people's negative words will not be able to touch you.

Loved your list, it was wonderful getting to know you and we have so many things in common like saving spiders and crickets in the bathtub; wearing comfy shoes and clothes; not being a vegetarian but loving nature and animals; having the name Cameron (though mine is a surname).

How wonderful to know you are adopted, thanks for sharing that personal information.

Love the photos you have included with this post especially the one on you posing about your name. :-)

Keep shining sweet friend.
Hugs

Love it!
I too have pulled numerous muscle chasing bugs this year---and when it's your BELLY muscles your pulling, and the BELLY is fighting back...just sayin'---I am in miserable shape! (so I had to chuckle along with that one.....maybe too much, thinking "I'M NOT ALONE!")
If I started a list on blog it would burn out Blogger.
Maybe it's just better I leave a comment and move forward... ;-)

Such a cool list - all these things we didn't have a clue about you!

I've already discovered Amy and her ramblings. She is so funny!

Did anyone ever tell you that you have such a happy looking face?

Ummm...you may not want to know the grim story about the spider getting washed down my bathtub drain. He did NOT climb up the spout a-gain as they say. Wish I liked em. But I don't. LOVE all the photos!! You are so sparkly and doggone cute! Especially those Ren-faire photos. LOVED EM!! This was a great list. I love lists. Make 'em all the time. Hugs to you Missy Cam! - Kathy

This was so much fun to read! Loved the photos that accompanied it too, you are adorable. Had to laugh at "crooked nose", because no one would have ever guessed it. Cameron just has a beautiful feel to it... Of all things, there is one that will stick with me and probably return to my thoughts many times: "I rescue worms that have washed onto the concrete". Really? You are a saint :-)

This list is so fun! I loved learning the new things about you and laughing again at your funny story about the cat and the flies. I too rescue stranded worms! It's just awful seeing them wiggling around knowing they're burning up on the sidewalk! Big hugs!

Lol! That was a great post. I LOVE the pic with the fox. WOW! We don't get them here in NZ, so I would be a bit scared I guess... like I am of all the spiders, native cockroaches and weta we have come by for visits. I think you need a halo for your services to insect kind!

This is a fun post! I have been MIA, having my third baby has really thrown me off. It is harder than I thought it would be to find time for me... but I had a few moments today, and was happy to see your post! :)

What a wonderful list here. Seeing as just just met you, this was a nice way to get to know you a little. Brought a smile to my face, you sound like a very sweet, kind and lovely person. ^_^ Have a good week!

love the list, anything to find out whats behind the blog is riveting for me, and you need to stop appologising for talking, we are all here to hear what you have to say, and its usually too short not to long!!
I myself begged for many fashion faux pars, Im just lucky my mum was such a stingee bitch she never brought me any of them 'thanks mum, you saved me from the dreaded Clog! you did however let me perm my hair so I looked like a sheep! "
That contact lens photo is fantastic, It was great to hear the reality of them, i never do extreme costuming either, preferring clothes that I can pass out in and have a comfy sleep! When I was a drinker!
As the school freak who was laughed at daily, my advice is "OWN IT", all those people who gave you crap are quite possible the most boring people you know now, or terribly unhappy!
well lets hope so at least!!

love ya

Oh this has been such a great read :)You have made me smile heartily...mostly at the neon socks!! (i too am a child of the 80's and wore odd neon socks...thankfully no one had the brassneck to say anything to me as my dad was a teacher at the same high school!!)
Such a brilliant list and that photo of you and the fox is beautiful.

Cameron this was a fun post! In those Ren faire pics, you look like a sexy wench, haha! how awesome you can share in that fun with your parents.
You had me laughing when you wrote that you pulled a muscle trying to kill flies, lol! I'm the same way, flies in my house drive me crazy too. It must be the irritating buzzing, and the fact that they keep landing on you then flying of before you can swat them.
Is that a fox you are hugging? I'm jealous! I love foxes, and all animals.
it was fun getting to know you
xoxo

What a fun list! I enjoyed reading it. I hate flies, fleas, and ants in my house...drives me nuts. I don't mind the spiders either. :) I guess now that it's nearly Halloween my spiderwebs will fit in nicely...at least for one month! Lol.
