A Magical Giveaway!

"You are unrepeatable.
There is a magic about you that is all your own. "

Do you feel it?  A tug, a jolt, a hum, a warmth, a whisper, a longing, a light?  What is your magic?  Have you always known it was there?  Or are you still searching for it?

I have always known, and it has always been a compulsion....a longing, and absolute need to create with my hands.  The process itself seems to be what fuels me, since I love thinking of and completing new projects, but rarely keep anything for myself.

 I did try attending Art School, but failed miserably at being responsible in my years after high school....I'm glad I didn't continue, or I wouldn't have become a Bartender (again using my hands) where I ended up in an Embassy Suites alongside a cute Room Service guy working his way thru college ( my Hubby :D)
"Magic All Your Own" 8 x 10 Mixed Media on canvas
available here

Exchanging intangible thoughts for actual images, trading neurological impulses for strokes of a paintbrush......holding true to a belief that what lies in my heart and hands is more profound then my will to supress it....this is my Magic....that I can care too much in every other regard what people think of me....and yet, create and share, without hesitating says to me that this is my path.

What is yours?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With gratitude overflowing,
Cameron
  1. Ooh Cameron, I would love to enter. Interesting how life's choices take us down certain paths. I had a marriage that ended in divorce but if not for that I wouldn't have my son or met my new partner.
    I do love your work (especially the portraits) - what I find interesting and compelling about it is the story it tells. There's more than just a portrait... there's something else going on - birds, whales... there's story and I love that!
  5. 100 posts! Congratulations! I love your latest painting. My youngest daughter loves the sea - especially whales and dolphins so I must show her this!
    I've had a few hectic weeks but hope to get back to my art soon. I need to get things out of my head and on to the page.
    It's ok if you don't want to include me in the giveaway as you would have to post to the UK. I just wanted to say Congrats!
  8. finding your magic - your truth - purpose. you have beautifully given words to my hearts desire and i'm sure many others - the creative process, giving away the magic - expressed as a mystery, a freedom yet an absolute certainty.
  9. Well, Missy, look at you! Happy 100th post. Doesn't it knock your socks off to think you've written about 100 different things? And I love that little owl. He's so darn cute. Love that picture too. Your faces that you paint are something special. They do have a magickal quality to them. As for my magic? It's there. It doesn't seem to be controllable. But then, that is the fun is it not?! Cheers! - Kathy
  12. Cameron I would love to be entered in this generous celebration! I was in the food service industry for 30 years 27 of them as a bartender...funny to see the things we have in common. I met my husband at work too. We are still friends, just not a married couple anymore.
    Congradulations on your blog, your marriage and your ART!
  14. I think you pretty much described my path too and like you - I don't keep much of my own stuff unless it's in my journal and even that sometimes gets ripped out and sent.
    I always wanted to go to art college but dropped out of school age 15 due to bullying. I'm glad in a way now because like you say these paths take us to where we are now and my path is with my 3 gorgeous girls and my soul mate (finally! Had to go through a lot of rubbish to find him but belive that's what makes me appreciate him more!) They all encourage me in making things with my hands too - aren't we lucky?
    Congratulations on the 100th post - I wish I had found you sooner but am so glad one of those paths led me to your blog eventually :D
    Thank you for the lovely chance to win - I'll blog about you a wee bit later!
    *hugs*
    Congrats to you too, how special for us, I would love to win things created by those hands, and loving the new mermaid picture, she is perfect.
    I have a saying on my facebook profile, let me go find it.... here it is..." I love being older, now im 33.. and have never felt so comfortable. so generally life is bliss, all my bad choices, shit decisions, crap jobs and wrong guys have led me to where i am now and i couldnt be more greatful.
    im loving life!"
    Its true, I hear people wishing away their pasts forgetting its part of the path that has led them here, led you here right now, and me here writing on your blog..... not a bad place to be at all.
    happy 100th post, and Im gonna mention you on mine so I can enter twice
  51. The owlette is adorable! I love the little button eyes. Cute things just make my heart melt, which is probably why I have a pet chinchilla who has currently taken over every part of my life. The humpback whale in the background of your painting is amazing, it reminds me of the time I saw humpback whales bubble-netting. It was probably the most majestic and serene moment of my life.
  53. Congrats!
    What a wonderful story that you have shared, thank you. You are so lucky that you knew what you wanted to do and then did it and done it so well.
    I always think that there is a reason things happen, not always what you may think is for the best but always there is something you can take from it and learn. You never get that opportunity if you had made a different choice and for that I am grateful.
    I see life as a journey of experiences and discovery and I am still learning to just be true to myself.
